Joel Ekeng
@eengJ_ · Software Engineer & Frontend Specialist
I build accessible, pixel-perfect digital experiences at the intersection of design and engineering. I care deeply about motion, hierarchy, and the tiny details that make products feel alive. Currently shipping production frontend systems with TypeScript, React/Next.js, and a strong systems mindset.
Journey
- 2025 — Present
Software Engineer · Technical Lead, Athmon Tech Firm
I build, style, and ship high-quality software solutions from concept to production. I review teammates’ code to maintain clean, scalable standards and mentor them on best practices. Beyond engineering, I stay closely involved in the business process, helping translate client requirements into reliable, enterprise-grade products that align with real-world use cases.
- 2024 — 2025
Technical Lead · TEDx Academic City
I served as Technical Lead for TEDxAcademicCity, responsible for ensuring the event website was well built, performant, and optimized for a smooth user experience. I oversaw implementation details, performance improvements, and ongoing maintenance. After my tenure ended, I continued to support the incoming team, helping them update and optimize the site so the platform could keep evolving beyond my time in the role.
- 2024
Full Stack Developer Intern · Versified Technology
Worked as a full‑stack engineering intern on a small, collaborative team building a VIC model application and booking management website. I contributed across the stack, from frontend interfaces to backend logic, while rapidly learning new tools and workflows. The role gave me hands‑on experience shipping real features, working in a team environment, and improving my problem‑solving and communication skills.

Right now I'm deep in Systems design at scale, Edge runtime + streaming UIs, Design tokens & cross-platform UI, and rust fundamentals — chasing the kind of problems that stretch how I think about building software. I work primarily in English, fluently, across teams and documentation.
When I'm not shipping, I'm on the keyboard exploring chords, producing, and digging into music theory. It keeps the engineering brain honest and reminds me that the best work comes from curiosity, not just discipline.
